Lifestyle Newborn Photos In The Home

Newborn portraits in the home add a special touch to creating memories for your family. While I love the clean look of the studio, there’s something truly magical about looking back at images in our first home, with our first child.

When deciding whether a home will work well for photos, I look for three things. First, you need lots of light for photography. And I mean lots! Particularly if you love the look of light and airy photos. So I make sure the home has big windows in a room we want to photograph.

The second thing I look for are light colored walls. White or very lightly painted rooms will reflect light, bouncing it from one side to the other. It also minimizes odd changes in skin color which will pick up the color of the paint in the room.

And lastly, I ask if your house is decorated in a way that makes you proud. This is subjective of course. But the furniture in your home will be in the photos. So it’s important that you like your decor.
