Your Children Will Cherish These Photos

We are doing our best to live in the moment, but what will you have to cherish the past?

Someone asked me once which were my kids favorite bedtime books.

“Our family photos” I would boldly state.

And it was true.

My children, for many years, would look to photo albums over books for their bedtime story. We would go through them, page by page, and I would retell stories of their first days. They wanted to know the first time I felt them kick and did they scream when entering the world.

Their story is magical and valuable. Upholding their arrival to the world as an important transition in the family, the more validated they feel.

These photos and stories imprint on them the importance they hold as a cherished part of your life.

Documenting the pregnancy, newborn and first year.

There is no more important year than the first of your child’s life. As you transition into motherhood (or to an ever-growing family), you will watch your child change from a tiny babe in your homes to a walking, babbling, chubby little person. As a mother and photographer, here are a few important milestones you’ll want to be sure to photograph:

Maternity Portraits

If you know me, you know I love the art of documenting your growing belly. It’s just so beautiful. But I also know how your children will cherish this stage of their life. As children, they will marvel at the possibility and proof that they were once in your belly. As adults, they will cherish the connection to you as their loving mother.

And it goes without saying, you also deserve this moment of capturing your beauty in a loving and intimate way. Check out that link to learn more about why this moment is so perfect for gorgeous portraits!

Newborn Portraits

They will never again be so little. Within a few short weeks, your newborn will outgrow this phase. It’s fleeting nature makes it an incredibly important time to document.

Sitting Up Portrait

My personal favorite! When your baby can sit, they are also smiling, giggling and ever-so-animated. They are chunky and entirely in love with interacting with you. This is an amazing time to capture your child but also the intimate bond you all share.

One Year Portrait

This first birthday is special. With a nostalgic heart, you will wonder where the time has gone. With this session, I include a cake so we can document your family, but also celebrate this amazing milestone.

Even though I place special emphasis on the first year, many of my beloved clients continue documenting their family year after year with a family portrait.

My hope for you is full and beautiful record that you and your children will cherish for many years.
